This is likely a result of a blocked drain. Something is causing the drain to clog. The most common causes of blocked drains are:

• tree roots
• Flushable wipes (these are not flushable)

The solution is first checking what the cause of the blockage is using a specialised CCTV camera. Depending on the cause, typically jetting the blockage out will clear it.

Sometimes, blockages will persist if they are caused by tree roots. Tree roots commonly infiltrate pipes in older houses, and houses with clay pipes. We usually recommend the pipes to be dug up and replaced by PVC piping, the industry's current best and most sustainable practice.
